What clients are saying

  • I highly recommend Tessa for pet sitting! She is reliable, trustworthy, and best of all my pets love her!

    - Linda G, Stone Ridge, NY
  • We’ve entrusted Tessa with our two beloved dogs and elderly cat and her care goes above and beyond. She’s capable, affectionate, and unfailingly reliable. There’s also a real, genuine commitment to animal care and well-being. I can’t recommend her enough–on every level. Her services have made our lives easier on many levels.

    - Rich and Lily, Stone Ridge, NY
  • Tessa is so pretty and I like it so much that she plays with me and scratches my butt and takes me out to pee when Mom & Dad aren’t home.

    - Vinny, Doberman from Stone Ridge
  • Tessa is very patient with me when I am having anxiety and hiding in my crate. I get upset when Mom & Dad go away but Tessa takes her time to make me feel better and after a while I forget about Mom and Dad because I love Tess (that’s what I call her) so much.

    - Abbie, Standard Poodle from Stone Ridge
  • If you are as crazy about your dog as I am about mine then Tessa is the woman to trust them with. I have three and it was never too much for Tessa. She is wonderful. In this day and age you expect something to go wrong, but Tessa has proven herself repeatedly. She has gone above and beyond my expectations and I have great confidence in her. I give her two thumbs up!

    - Stephanie H, Stone Ridge, NY
  • Our two German Shepherds adore Tessa.  Our ducks, chickens and geese have not expressed any opinion, but they are always in excellent shape when Tessa takes care of them. We have come to rely on Tessa for all of our animal care needs, and as we run a small farm with over 200 poultry, it is a big task.  Not only does she do an excellent job, but Tessa is very responsive and does her best to accommodate our schedule. When Tessa first started caring for our dogs, one was a very mischievous puppy and Tessa was excellent with her, with monitoring her play with our adult dog, and gave individual attention to each of them.  She adapted to our changing needs as the pup grew up. She keeps us informed of the dogs activities during or shortly after each visit. We are completely comfortable giving Tessa the keys to our house, and are very grateful for everything she does for us.  We recommend Tessa without reservation.

    - Polly and Brian, High Falls, NY
  • When you have active, big dogs who love people, love activities and love attention, it can be hard to find the right dog sitter. Tessa is great! For my dogs, she has just the right tone of affection and playfulness mixed with authority. They respect her, trust her, and adore her. She is prompt, thoughtful, smart, and extremely conscientious.  No worries at all when my dogs are in her hands.

    - Jana M, Woodstock, NY
  • Tessa made a home visit before agreeing to pet sit so we could meet her and she us. The first time she was here, our two young cats were all over her, purring and nuzzling. She gives off that “I love animals” vibe and I could see that they felt it. Since then, she’s visited many times. She always emails to confirm an appointment, shows up when scheduled, does what needs to be done, and then treats us with a text about the cats’ well being, and a photo of them. We love that. When we return, the cats are relaxed and well fed. I know they’ve enjoyed her company. Don’t hesitate to hire Tessa. I’m so glad we did.

    - Tina and Bob, High Falls, NY
  • I have from first meeting her been impressed with Tessa of Mutt and Molly, whose care and concern for my beloved whippet Argos is clear. While she is professional and thorough, she is also obviously a person who truly loves dogs. I would not hesitate to put Argos in her care—for an afternoon walk or while on an extended vacation. Simply put: she’s great, and Argos loves her.

    - Matt S, Lomontville, NY
  • I first met Tessa as a student.  She came to me with her coonhound, Molly, who she wanted to have more control over so that she would be able to provide a more fulfilling and safe life for her dog.  I worked with Tessa for many months.  I was, and still am, very impressed by her dedication to maximize her and her dog’s potential as a team.  Due to Tessa’s committed efforts, she and Molly have very few limitations for what they can now do together.

Tessa’s committed, positive, can-do attitude along with her appropriate and compassionate handling have given me a confidence and belief in her that I have in a very select few — to take care of my large, active pack in my absence.

Your dog is in capable, trustworthy and compassionate hands when Tessa is on the job.

    - Kyle Warren- Owner/Trainer of KyleWarrenDogs.com, Olivebridge, NY
  • What can you say about someone who so exceeds all expectations? Tessa is not only great with our elderly, quirky dog but she is impeccably responsible, looks after our house and most important gives us the peace of mind to leave our beloved dog in her skillful hands. We could not recommend her more highly!

You would think that the design of the kitty litter box would have evolved over time — but it hasn’t changed much. The ol’ box with the lid seems the be the tried-and-true design. Cold Weather Dog Walking – Protecting your Skin and Lips

I’m one of those folks with ‘delicate skin’. My arm will turn a fiery red if simply brushed by a conifer branch.  I don’t do well with fragrances and just about every lotion makes me break-out. Come winter, ugh! My poor face and lips look like they’re in molt. About two falls ago, a friend and […]

We love dogs. We want to shower them with affection. But sometimes dogs don’t want our love – and our displays of attention and affection may make them really, really uncomfortable. Hugging and Kissing Dogs Molly and I were recently in a situation where she needed to be handled by a stranger. The girl squatted on […]

Keep your Pups Safe – Have a Plan!

A few years ago, my dog, Molly and I were in the woods doing some off-leash training when lo-and-behold, she literally ran into a porcupine.  What ensued was a true Mexican standoff.  In those very long and tense minutes (that felt like forever and a day), I was running through and attempting scenario after scenario […]

Making Yogurt from Scratch for you and your Pets

I love to add a cup of yogurt to our girls’ food to make it just a little bit yummier. (Our dogs love yogurt!) Homemade yogurt tastes great, is less expensive than store-bought yogurt, is easy to make and you can make enough for both your dogs and for you! What you’ll need: Raw unpasteurized […]

Making your dog’s food from scratch isn’t for everyone.  It takes time – but surprisingly, can be less expensive than store bought food.  The payoff is that you know your dog is eating well (our dogs eat better than we do), your dog will love it — and you will too! I don’t recall when […]
